ReplyDeleteWasn't this a given with Hillary? At least with Trump there's a chance he'll be a little better. I think Trump's worst-case would be that he'd be as bad as Hillary.
That's why I voted for him...now let's hope that's how it plays out! (he's not as bad..)
Delete--- Wasn't this a given with Hillary? ---
DeleteNo, not with a Republican House and Senate. HillRod is corrupt but she would've come in with much diminished power compared to the p...y grabber.
When did a republican congress ever stop a democrat's wars? The last time republicans even tried was WW2.
DeleteThey did stop Clinton's police state until GWB was elected. So it was only delayed out of partisan spite.
I don't like Trump and think the people who he has surrounded himself with are scary, but the idea that the war party would have constrained HRC's warmongering have no historical basis.
Dear Bob,
ReplyDeletePlease remind Lew Rockwell and Walter Block, the libertarian fanboys of Trump of what you just wrote. Thanks
You're right, but it would be the same with Clinton. At least now, Obamacare is probably history. Hopefully, they won't replace it with something just as bad or worse. Trump actually had a couple of reasonable ideas like allowing insurance companies to compete beyond state boundaries. He will not (and neither would Clinton) do what really should happen: deregulate medical care.
ReplyDeleteYou left out, "Expect nuclear war with Russia to be averted." Hillary is a monster, and thank God she's not at the helm or ever will be!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fine how-do-you-do. Now the republicans will believe in government again. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Ugh.
DeleteDon't forget John Bolton. Not sure if he's an official adviser, but he's terrible, too...
ReplyDeleteThe ugliness already started: yesterday, during my son's Boy Scouts meeting, he was bullied by some punk kid who taunted him by saying he will be deported to Mexico.
ReplyDeleteI only have Trumpistas to thank. The "deep America" has come forth, with its grotesque face. I don't think the p...y grabber will do even a 1/4 of what he promised but the environment he helped encourage will turn out to be ugly. Not that the Demo-rats are blameless, because instead of sticking to a positive campaign of inclusiveness they helped open this chasm with their rhetoric. The reason is simple: because they're the most illiberal people that exist. This is part their fault.
Francisco you are in favor of open borders. The majority are not, hence the built up resentment.
DeleteFrancisco, bullying has gotten much better than when I was a kid. I used to get beaten up regularly on the school bus by kids a couple of grades above me (which made them huge by comparison). I was also taunted, but that never had much affect on me, which is probably why I was beaten.
DeleteKids taunt. I don't think I'd read presidential ugliness into that. The overreaction to that kind of stuff is, in part, why someone like Trump won.
Better than native whites getting bullied by colonizing Mexicans about how this isn't their country anymore.
DeleteRe: PH,
Delete─ Francisco you are in favor of open borders. The majority are not, hence the built up resentment. ─
Perhaps, but there's a difference: I'm for open borders (open to trade, to capital, to labor) because i actually *know* economics. The resentful are easily swayed by facile and gratuitous demagoguery. This means I don't care about the majority or their resentment, because it is not based in rational thought.
Re: Keith,
Delete─ Better than native whites getting bullied by colonizing Mexicans [...] ─
El Trumpo will defend whites from Mexican butt sex. See them pile against the walls like Hannibal's Gauls and Carthaginians? Yeah, he's right now on the parapets, rallying the defenders.
Grow up.
It's an interesting time to be alive. Now the question is: will Trump live up to the populist sentiment that got him elected, or will he become another tool of the elites? If he does stay true to his populist message, how will the elites retaliate? JFK got offed when he went against the elites.
ReplyDeleteRe: Jesse Traub,
Delete─ will Trump live up to the populist sentiment that got him elected─
You mean will he defend the population from Mexican butt-sex?
Yeah. No. He won't.
Well, at least Roger Stone will be there to save the day. (snicker)
