More Support for Hillary From Pat Buchanan

I doubt Pat Buchanan realizes that he has just made a ringing endorsement of Hillary Clinton once again.

But from a libertarian perspective, the candidate least capable of supporting and launching authoritarian programs is the best

Buchanan  writes:
And Hillary Clinton? Whatever her attributes, she is uncharismatic, unexciting, greedy, wonkish, scripted and devious, an individual you can neither fully believe nor fully trust.
This has to be music to a libertarian's ears, when the only options are authoritarians.

Yes, her staff will still be able to do much dangerous mischief, but great mischief requires a leader to bring along the masses. Hillary, as I have said, couldn't get a WAVE started at a baseball park. She is everything Buchanan says she is.

Trump would get absolutely the worst people in our country energized: employees of the state who carry arms. His support of gun-carrying government agents and willingness to expand the number of gun-carrying government agents should be of great concern to libertarians. (SEE: A Peek at Donald Trump's Police State)

He is already energizing such agents and he is proud of this and regularly notes so:
And he said in last  night's speech:
I’ve had a chance to spend time with these incredible law enforcement officers, and I want to take a moment to thank them. The endorsement I’ve received from the Border Patrol officers means more to me than I can say.
Not good.

His confused understanding of society which causes him to think he can plan vast parts if it should also be of great concern (SEE:The Fatal Conceit of Donald Trump).

From a policy perspective, there is nothing good to say about Hillary. Nothing. A Hillary Clinton presidential administration would be horrific. But she is not a creative oppressor. She does not have the energy to drive grand oppressive schemes.

The best that can be said about her is she is not as creative, interesting, charismatic or energetic as Donald Trump, but that is saying a lot.

  1. It's wishful thinking that libertarians can tease out minute policy differences from these tyrants. They lie and flip flop on a daily basis. The only thing we can do is look at who they are as people and Sick Hillary is a potentially weaker tyrant, though no less motivated. Midterms probably go GOP and unite the party against her in gridlock.

    1. Hillary getting into office and if she is as sick as some are speculating her dying in office with a milk toast leftist as her successor would probably be the best scenario. The left is still clearly divided despite what the media thinks. To paraphrase the great Robert Higgs: "I dont fear the guy with the funny mustasche, I fear the thousands who support him"

  2. Yes RW, we desperately need more IQ Somalis and leftist Mexicans here in the US. Maybe if Mexico would work out a deal where Americans could become citizens in a couple years I would be more amicable to your view.

I do wish for the abolition of minimum wage laws and other job destroying government edicts, but this nonsense of importing foreign cultures is stupid on your part. It's bad enough we have too many indoctrinated Americans via the public school system.

I'm for the wall. Mexico does the same thing, but somehow, does not get the same criticism from the press.

    1. I believe RW is proposing a situation where foreigners do not get ANY government benefits and cannot engage in a majority vote to turn the USA into Venezuela or otherwise weaken private property and contract rights of the existing population.

    2. But that is precisely the goal of the people who seek to change the demographics of our country. They know that they are importing loyal democrat voters (the stupid republicans appear not to have caught on to this yet)and they absolutely want to weaken private property and contract rights.

    3. An expanded Federal police state will only weaken property and contract rights. Such walls are for police states.

    4. Sorry Jack. Walls are much less dangerous than low IQ immigrants that will vote Democrat. Walls can be torn down. Good luck trying to create a libertarian society with a bunch of feral Leftists that permanently will outnumber you by the millions.

I'm going to have to go with John and LG on this one.

    5. In the real world, the “higher IQ” folk produced the welfare/warfare US empire and neither the “high IQ” lifelong progressive Trump or his “higher IQ” primary supporters and advisers want to change any of that.

  3. Well she was able to start a war in Libya, destroy that country and destabilize the region, flood Syrian terrorists with arms, give a big boost to the migrant invasion of Europe, plus lots more, and this was only as Secretary of State. As President, even without support, she can do lots more. I'm not saying the Donald would be better, but I still believe she can get lots of horrible things done even without support. She is a driven power hungry psychopath who can get do plenty of horrible things with zero support. I still can't 'cheer her on' and hope she wins over Trump.

Bwahahahaha. Good gosh! Where do you live? It is like this already. We just do not want the government to shove down our throat the importation of people who support the very things you claim to be rampaging against.

  5. If Hillary is president, the "right" will be in a state of intense state-hate. If Trump is president and does almost as many bad things as Hillary, the "right" will go back to sleep.

  6. I understand that Trump is a charismatic strong leader type and that he can get a crowd worked up but he does not have the masses behind him. Most ordinary people who would vote for Trump don't even like to admit it out of fear or embarrassment. Kids are getting beat up and picked on at school for liking Trump. Nobody has Trump bumper stickers on their cars because they don't want their cars vandalized. Why is it not a ringing endorsement from a libertarian perspective that half of the country is convinced that he is the next Hitler and will look on anything he does with suspicion? The media is hysterically anti-Trump. They will be against him every step of the way, and in spite of all of Hillary's crimes I think it's more likely that Trump would be taken down in a Watergate type conspiracy than it would be for Hillary to be taken down by her scandals. I well see the problems with Trump and do not intend to vote for anyone but I am silently cheering him on mostly for two reasons,1. Out of spite for the crazy leftist anti-Trump crowd and 2.Hillary will try to do to America what Merkel has done to Europe with immigration. This is enough reason to prefer Trump, even if they were equally bad on everything else(they aren't).

    1. I agree. I don't get it either. Hell, the establishment hates this guy even more than they did Ron Paul (which shocked the hell out of me). I've had to keep my mouth shut about Trump in public otherwise I could lose my job, get beat up or have my car vandalized. And THIS guys is dangerous? If Hillary gets in what little rights us white males have will be gone. We'll just be assault and murder targets for these hoodrats. No thanks.

They also don't seem to realize that Hillery will invite all of the third world toilet population in and guess what...libertarianism will be dead then. PERMANENTLY. No recovery. We'll live in a third world toilet bowl from now on.

  7. Patrolling and securing the border is one of the few legitimate purposes of government. What's the problem?
