The Message About Government in the New 'Jason Bourne' Film

I saw the new Jason Bourne film released yesterday. It's a pretty good action film but most fascinating is that it has an exceptionally decent "don't trust the government" theme.

It shows some government officials as very bad guys. There is even a scene where a government hit is made to look like it was done by a lone nut Middle East terrorist.

A great message for the masses.

  1. Boycott any Matt Damon movie. He is an enemy of the second amendment and the constitution. He pushes for a total gun ban while using gun play in his Bourne movies.

  4. Dan, just curious, but why do you end your statement with Semper Fi?

    1. It means "Always Faithful" in Latin, or it's short for the Latin actually. It's the United States Marine Corps motto.

  5. I know what it means, I was just curious why he said it, especially if it was a marine reference, I thought it odd.
On one hand, he wants to boycott Damon for being "anti-gun", even though Damon literally is no threat to gun ownership or any other Liberty for that matter, yet to end his comment with the Marines motto, an organization of the State that actually is a threat to our Liberty, just seemed a little contradictory.
But maybe it wasn't a reference to the marines.

  6. The subplot about the spooks and the social media entrepreneur reminded me of the Facebook / In-q-tel (the CIA's venture capital spinoff) stories common a few years ago.

  7. you know a surprising person who makes seemingly anti-NWO / big government films ? Tome cruise. consider he is now making a film about the Clinton/Bush drug running vortex in Mena, Arkansas. He will be playing the very savvy Barry Seal, who flew much of the cocaine in for Bush and apparently had Bush's personal phone number in his contacts. ( Dennis Hopper made a great Barry Seal movie)
    another one is Oblivionhttps://youtu.be/IBVkUb_TWp8
then also there is Minority Report https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2bmImPNKbM
then consider some of his interviews-one in particular with Matt Lauer http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=matt+luaer+tom+cruise+&&view=detail&mid=FDD1FF99B564D5369AA9FDD1FF99B564D5369AA9&FORM=VRDGAR

I myself was a theatre major and of course followed Sean Penn closely. when I began to hear some of his views it was a bit depressing . I no longer try to follow their political views. It takes away from the experience of the art.
