Dilbert Creator, Scott Adams, On Donald Trump

Fascinating stuff. Adams has a background in hypnosis and persuasion.

  1. Oh, come on! Isn't that true of the Clintons (hatred of men) and the Obamas (divisiveness) and the Bushes (folksiness) and the O'Reilys (bullshit) and the Matthews' (horseshit) and the whole stinking lot of them? Trump didn't invent this approach and he sure as heck isn't the only one using it. Everyone is now voicing their "oh, I never!" indignation, but they have, and they will continue to do the same thing.

  2. Scott Adams is incredible. His book, "How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big" is truly a great read. He's dealt with focal dystonia which affects his ability to draw, AND from spasmodic dysphonia, a condition that causes the vocal cords to behave in an abnormal manner. The book is filled with life-enhancing insights.

He's correct in his assessment. Politicians are salesmen. Trump is a great salesman, and knows how to persuade. While khavlicek is true in what he writes above, what's new is that Trump is an outsider who they can't control. They're beside themselves with loathing at this fact and are pulling out all the propaganda they can muster to stop him.

I like how Mr. Adams disavowed everyone. Nice touch.

  3. Common wisdom says that if you want to sell a lie, wrap in up in truth. That's bush league. If you really want to sell a lie, tangle it up in a lie that your audience is already telling itself.
