Walter Block to Speak on Equal Pay and the Glass Ceiling

Walter Block will be speaking in Vancouver, British Columbia on November 25.

Here are the details:

The Invisible Gap: The Truth About Income Inequality Between Genders: A presentation by Austrian Economist Walter Block

There has been much disagreement amongst economists, sociologists, and academics alike about the gap between men’s earnings and women’s earnings, what it means, its causes, its effects, and its importance.

Students for Liberty has invited world-renowned Austrian School Economist and anarcho-capitalist theorist, Walter Block, to discuss and explore his perspective on the wage gap. Block has written on the wage gap extensively, dating back to 1981 when he formulated the Marriage Asymmetry Hypothesis:

“When a man and woman get married, what typically happens is the man will take on the lion’s share of making money and the woman will take on the lion’s share of raising the children . . . Whether this is right or wrong is irrelevant to the discussion at hand. The only thing that matters here is if the wage gap is due to discrimination.”

FREE ADMISSION for all. Non-students welcome.
