Does Rand Paul Have a Problem Acknowledging His Father's Greatness?

This exchange took place between Ted Cruz and Rand Paul, during last night's Republican presidential debate:
TED CRUZ: I have got deep concerns about the Fed. The first thing I think we need to do is audit the Fed. And I am an original co-sponsor of Ron Paul's audit the Fed legislation...
RICK SANTELLI [MODERATOR]: Senator Paul, the same question to you.
RAND PAUL: Well, thank you very much. I would like to thank Ted for co-sponsoring my bill, audit the Fed.

  1. No, I think Cruz misspoke. I can't find anything that says he was a co-sponsor on one of Ron's bills. But he was a co-sponsor on Rand's bill in January.

It was probably a legitimate mistake to say Ron instead of Rand. If it was purposeful, then one could say maybe Ted didn't want to give Rand any credit.

    1. Cruz didn't misspeak. He was referring to the original drafter of the Audit the Fed bill. He was giving credit to the man behind the idea.

  2. Rand introduced the bill in the senate. I'll give him a pass on this one.
