NEW DOCUMENTARY Gore Vidal vs. William F. Buckley Jr.: 'Best of Enemies'

A new documentary from Magnolia Pictures delves into the famous televised debate between Buckley, Jr. and Vidal is due in theaters on July 31.

Although Buckley is often portrayed as a conservative, small government advocate. It is suspected, by those in the know, that he was always in the employ of the CIA.

There was hardly any US military intervention that Buckley did not support. And he was vicious towards hardcore libertarians.

From the obituary he wrote following the death of the great Austrian school economist and libertarian Murray Rothbard: 

 MURRAY ROTHBARD, age 68, died on January 7. We extend condolences to his family, but not to the movement he inspired... Yes, Murray Rothbard believed in freedom, and yes, David Koresh believed in God.

The lefty Vidal, on the other hand, always had beautiful distrust of the state.

It is unlikely any of these topics will be contained in the documentary.
