An Indication That Donald Trump is Not Concerned about Rand Paul as an Opponent

One thing you learn by carefully following Donald Trump comments is that he is a pretty shrewd politician. He seems to be  a natural.

One thing he never does is punch down, There is very little that he will say in a negative way about any candidates that he is polling better than. On the other hand, Jeb Bush is ahead of him in many polls and he attacks Bush aggressively.

The nicer Trump is to an opposing candidate, the less Trump views that candidate as a major opponent.

Trump is not afraid of Rand. He had this to say about Rand:

I know him. I’ve been with him. I like him. He’s got some very common sense positions.  And I think he also will be formidable.

Trump would never say such a thing about a candidate he really thought was formidable. By his comment, he is courting Rand supporters for when Rand falls by the wayside. Shrewd.
