Rubio Pulls a Dubya

By Chris Rossini

Remember when George W. Bush said "I've abandoned free market principles to save the free market system"?

Well Dubya would be proud of Marco Rubio today. The Presidential contender while being questioned about Iraq said:
"Well, it’s not nation-building. We are assisting them in building their nation."
Ummm....right.

According to Rubio, the U.S.'s "non-nation-building" nation-building is good because:
The alternative to doing that is the chaos we have now. Because in fact what happened in Iraq under this administration is they rallied around [former Prime Minister Nouri al] Maliki, a Shia leader who used his power to go after Sunnis, and that created the environment that was conducive for ISIS to come back in and create all these problems.
Rubio is talking in circles.

The "non-nation-building" U.S. chose the wrong leader for Iraq (Maliki) and the result has been "the chaos we have now."

Is this a joke?

Here's the best part. Rubio admits that the U.S. has created "chaos," but just last month he said:
The world is a better place because Saddam Hussein does not run Iraq.
Be sure to tip your waitress on your way out.
