Major Setback for Rand Paul

Mike Huckabee, Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina all gained significant ground with Republican primary voters in the weeks since they announced their candidacy for the party’s presidential nomination, according to a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll.

Rand Paul moved in the opposite direction over the same period, with the share of likely GOP primary voters who said they could see themselves backing him falling from 59% in late April to 49% in mid-June. He was the only Republican candidate to show, between March and June, no increase in the number of Republican primary voters that said they could see themselves voting for him.

  1. Rand Paul is a stale Nestle Crunch bar compared to candidates with a more authentic Republican bent that have the essence of a Godiva Truffle; they look real, smell real, and leave members of the Grand Old Party with a heavenly after taste.
