Gun Control is Anti-Female

Karl Rove one ups Rand Paul in distancing the Republican Party from a strong advocacy of the Second Amendment.

The Daily Caller reports:
Republican strategist Karl Rove said on “Fox News Sunday” the only way to stop gun-related violence, like the Wednesday massacre at Emmanuel African Methodist Church in Charleston S.C., was to repeal American citizens’ Second Amendment rights.
Although I don't personally carry a gun with me, I do consider a gun the great equalizer. To be against individuals carrying guns is really to be anti-female. If gun carrying became more common, a thug would think long and hard before attempting to rob or otherwise harm an individual.

More women carrying guns in their purses would probably be the greatest deterrent that could develop against rape. Anti-gun advocates are really providing an edge to rapists.

  1. "Although I don't personally carry a gun with me, I consider a gun the great equalizer."

    Very true.

    Small story:

When I was a college kid attending Kent State around 90', I came out of a bar at 2am in downtown Kent(which was very much a small "party" setting despite the university having around 35K students at the time).

Anyway, when me and a buddy came out we saw two young black men and two young white men squaring off for what was looking to be a fight. I was in a point in life where I was less risk averse. I heard one of the white kids yelling "Give me back my chain." and I went over with my friend in tow to try to stop a fight.

In a very weird, but funny exchange, I get there and we are all standing in a circle looking at each other in a "Mexican standoff" manner a la "The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly", but we all within three feet of each other more or less. So I pipe up, "What's the problem?"

One of the white kids say, "He ripped my gold chain off my neck as we were walking by."

I say, "Did you do that?" to one of the clearly urban youths, that probably came to Kent to steal from soft white kids. (I had spent quite a bit of time growing up in low income housing outside of Detroit unfortunately...so I was...let's say unaware/unafraid of risk at the time).

He said, very simply/directly, "Yeah, I did, what are you going to do about it?"

My reply, "Well, there's four of us here against you two, so I'm thinking you return his necklace or get an ass kicking."

He pulls out a knife and says, "Well, I have the equalizer right here."

LMAO! I shit you not, those were his exact words(and he was right!). So the 3 foot diameter circle suddenly became 4 feet, and I turned to the unfortunate victim while we are all standing there looking at each other and said, "Well dude, looks like you lost your necklace." and I turned with my buddy and left.

There was no violence or anything...it just ended. lol

There's a lot more to the story because as my buddy and I were driving home we spotted the two getting into a lowered Monte Carlo with several other friends and they spotted us....and proceeded to chase my friend vehicles(running down the middle of the street-I could never figure out why they didn't use their car...lol) after he shouted some inflammatory remarks their way. It was all pretty surreal and makes for good story telling at parties.

    :)

  2. Where in the Consitution, sans the 2nd Amendment, is the FedGov granted the power to regulate ( confiscate) guns?

When 9 former Colonies under the Articles of Confederation [implicitly] seceded to join under the new Constitution, without amendments, did they grant any powers to the FedGov relating the regulation of free speech, frredom religion, freedom of the press, firearms, etc? Did the amendments grant anything new to the FedGov, other than in the 3rd?
