Rand Paul Tied for 4th Place in Iowa

MoFo puts part of the blame on Doug Stafford:

Earlier this year, it became abundantly clear that senior adviser Doug Stafford’s strategy of cozying up to neocons, feminazis, and black supremacists had proven disastrous. Rand Paul dropped from 1st to 5th place or worse in 8 straight national polls.
But like the authors of the Iraq Occupation and the Windows 8 launch, Stafford refused to change course.
Instead, he sent surrogates to assure low-information supporters with increasingly implausible talking points:
It’s sooo early! Everything is going according to plan!
When confronted with collapsing national poll numbers:
It’s sooo early! It’s the state polls that matte
When confronted with collapsing state poll numbers:
It’s sooo early! Just wait til Rand announces!
But Rand Paul’s announcement came and went with, predictably, no appreciable improvement in his position…

Doug Stafford’s hopes of winning Iowa now rely on bringing in thousands of young, obnoxious Campaign For Liberty volunteers from out-of-state to convince “dumb hicks” (their inner thoughts, not mine) to get out the vote.

That will end well.
