The latest trailer for the Dwayne Johnson earthquake thriller “San Andreas” has been released, fgeatures California, including Los Angeles, San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge, on the edge of total destruction.
Personally, I think the lefty nutjobs and the Fed will do most of the destruction before we ever see an earthquake like this.
Fed watchers will appreciate the irony that the scientist in this clip giving the warning about a greater earthquake "that will split the earth open," is played by Paul Giamatti, who played Ben Bernanke in the film Too Big To Fail.
Ha, so fake. Everyone knows that when high rise buildings burn they fall straight down onto their own footprint, like in NY. They don't fall over sideways.
ReplyDeleteWhat, a helicopter is not enough to save you from an earthquake? Then a speedboat is not enough to propel you over a giant tsunami? Earthquake movies seem to be about political upheavals, like secessions. I am sure that a north/south split in California would definitely be felt all along the east coast.
ReplyDeleteThis is such ridiculous nonsense. A number of years ago, there was a mini-series about an enormous earthquake of some enormous intensity rating. I was in graduate school for structural engineering a the time. Our Earthquake Resistant Design professor gave us a homework assignment to watch the movie, take the intensity measurement, and then calculate all the relevant required parameters. Turns out, that particular earthquake required a fault larger than the diameter of the Earth to mobilize enough energy.

This is why I stick to fantasy, comic book, and legitimate sci-fi flicks.
