Rand Paul Introduces Stand with Israel Act of 2015

And yet another pro-Israel statement from Rand Paul. The official statement from Rand's office:

Sen. Rand Paul Introduces Stand with Israel Act of 2015

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sen. Rand Paul yesterday reintroduced the Stand with Israel Act of 2015. This legislation would halt all U.S. foreign aid to the Palestinian Authority (P.A.) until the P.A. renounces violence, purges terrorists from its ranks, and recognizes the nation of Israel. The Stand with Israel Act of 2014 was introduced last Congress in response to the P.A.’s attempts to form a unity government with the terrorists of Hamas—a unity government that still remains.

Text for the bill, S.633, can be found below:

"The Stand with Israel Act of 2015 sends a clear message: Unless the Palestinian Authority recognizes the right of Israel to exist as a Jewish state, ceases to work with terrorist organizations such as Hamas, and agrees to a lasting peace, this legislation will halt all U.S. taxpayer dollars to the Palestinian Authority,” said Sen. Paul.

TEXT:

“To prohibit certain assistance to the Palestinian Authority.
(a) In General.  Except as provided under subsection (b) and notwithstanding any other provision of law, no amounts may be obligated or expended to provide any direct United States assistance, loan guarantee, or debt relief to the Palestinian Authority, or any affiliated governing entity or leadership organization.
(b) Exception.  The prohibition under subsection (a) shall have no effect for a fiscal year if the President certifies to Congress during that fiscal year that the Palestinian Authority has --
(1) Formally recognized the right of Israel to exist as a Jewish state;
(2) Publicly recognized the state of Israel;
(3) Renounced terrorism;
(4) Purged all individuals with terrorist ties from security services;
(5) Terminated funding of anti-American and anti-Israel incitement;
(6) Publicly pledged to not engage in war with Israel; and
(7) Honored previous diplomatic agreements.”

  1. Please stop Rand.
    How about you convert, move to Israel and run for the Knesset instead.
    Then you can stand with Israel 24/7/365.

  2. I think he tried this bill last year and it flopped.

    Let's all give him a slow clap for such blatant opportunism in timing this bill right on the heels of Nuttyahoo's speech to Congress.
