Problem: Grassroots Ron Paul Followers Suck Up Too Much Energy

Well that's the view of Rand Paul camapign insider Jesse Benton. NYT reports:
Harnessing the intense grass-roots energy that Ron Paul followers bring is something the Rand Paul campaign acknowledges it has to manage delicately. Jesse Benton, an adviser who has worked for both Pauls, said the expectations of the base could always be better managed.
“Their energy is so crucial, and you legitimately love and respect them so much for their dedication,” he said. “But because they care so much and they’re so passionate, they require a lot of attention and a lot of tending that does suck up campaign energy that could be used for other purposes.
And get this, they call Dr. Paul, "the Old Man." NYT again:
Ron Paul, or “the Old Man,” as some of the son’s advisers playfully call him, will not have any formal role in the campaign.
And then there is this:
Some of his moves [Rand's] have angered libertarians who say he is getting too cozy with Republican leadership. His advisers, like their boss, make no apologies. “Rand is a Republican — a capital ‘R’ Republican,” said his senior strategist, Doug Stafford.

  1. The only way to suck up energy is when you're cold. When you're hot you give off energy.

  4. Here's what the war mongering senior Rand Paul advisor Mike Rothfeld thinks of Ron Paul people:
"So tough shit for poor RP sheeple that can get it through their heads that Ron does not command a majority in virtually any demographic. And I don't believe in electing people of "integrity." I believe in forcing integrity by having overwhelming numbers. Sorry for the tone, but I am a bit tired of the cwazy wabbits." 5. The NYT reports: "He has constantly fought to ease concerns from old-guard Republicans that he will work against the party, much as his father’s supporters did when they seized control of many state Republican organizations in recent years."

How can Rand put Establishment Republicans at ease when several of his senior advisers have explicitly advocated for the election of the Democrat presidential candidate during the general election in 2000, 2004, 2008, and 2012. Several of them specifically claimed to vote for Barack Obama in 2008 and again in 2012, as the principled vote for "conservatives" because, he was the "lesser of two evils" choice to grow their organizations, their movement and their power? Why is 2016 different? Wait til those tapes come out from one or more of those closed-door, caffeine-jazzed, political training seminars in Corpus Christi, Texas (2009), Kissimmee, Florida (2011) or elsewhere. Ultimately they were paid for with significant amounts of grassroots Ron Paul supporter money, of course. See Red Fox Four... the goal is to take power... over you, over me, over the world!
