FASCINATING Left and Right, Religious and Non-Religious Agree: Jesus Was Against High Taxes

In his book, Killing Jesus, Bill O'Reilly  apparently writes that Jesus was against high taxes. From a completely different perspective on Jesus (and on politics)  Reza Aslan, author of, Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth, agrees on this point.

A video has emerged on youtube of a discussion  in February by Aslan, at the Los Angeles World Affairs Council. Aslan stated, “I understand basically he’s [O'Reilly] turned Jesus into a member of the Tea Party. Because it’s all about taxes as far as he’s concerned. That Jesus was upset about the high cost of taxes, which actually is true, and government interference, and that’s why he rebelled, and that’s why he was killed. That’s fine.”
