Ron Paul's Liberty Report: Does President Obama Hate America?

Ron Paul talks with Daniel McAdams, executive director of Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity in the clip below in the new Ron Paul's Liberty Report. They discuss Ukraine and President Obama, and Ron comes out with some insights from directions that I hadn't thought of before.

BTW, I think this format is a great format for Ron. It gives him the opportunity to discuss affairs of the day without having to always be on alert for gotcha questions from hostile reporters---or simply shallow questions. With Ron and Daniel, it is almost like two very knowledgeable guys, with inside perspective, in a bar talking.

Daniel is perfect in his role because of his knowledge and I think it makes Ron feel comfortable in the conversation, and we end up benefiting by understanding much more about how Ron thinks about different political players and the world.

I could watch this kind of stuff all day.

Ron Paul: How Many More Wars?

How Many More Wars?

By Ron Paul

Last week President Obama sent Congress legislation to authorize him to use force against ISIS “and associated persons and forces” anywhere in the world for the next three years. This is a blank check for the president to start as many new wars as he wishes, and it appears

Ron Paul: "Lessons From Paris"

By Ron Paul

After the tragic shooting at a provocative magazine in Paris last week, I pointed out that given the foreign policy positions of France we must consider blowback as a factor. Those who do not understand blowback made the ridiculous claim that I was

Ron Paul: What The 2014 Elections Meant

By Ron Paul

Did the election last week really mean that much?  I took to my Twitter account on Tuesday to point out that the change in control of the Senate from Democrat to Republican actually means

Cato's Principled Leader vs. A Real Principled Leader

By Chris Rossini

Remember "libertarian" Cato Institute's Principled Leader?

Well, yesterday, Christie had to deal with a lone heckler. Here's how The Boss responded to him:
“I’ve been here when the cameras aren’t here, buddy, and done the work. I'm glad you had your day to show off, but we're the ones who are here to actually do the work,” Christie said. "So listen, you want to have the conversation later, I’m happy to have it, buddy. But until that time, sit down and shut up.”
The Cato Institute really hitched its wagon to a star.

Let's now contemplate another leader, but not one who heads up a violent gang. This person was (and remains) a champion of peace and liberty. He had to put up with thousands of hecklers at one time while on the debate stage. Even the debate moderators were against him.

You know the leader I'm referring to right?

Cato's leader couldn't handle a single heckler without blowing his top.

Ron Paul handled a never-ending barrage of slings and arrows. And he continues to confront them today like a Saint.

That's the "power of principled leadership'".

Time Magazine: Ron Paul is Causing Problems for Rand Paul

Time, in an article titled "Ron Paul is Spouting Off on Ebola, Secession and Terrorism in Canada," is upset because Ron Paul, with his much more consistent libertarian message, is supposedly making things more difficult for establishment leaning Rand Paul.

Denver Nicks writes at Time:
His punditry is creating problems for his son's likely White House run

In recent months, retired congressman and Libertarian darling Ron Paul has made pronouncements on Ebola, secessionist movements and terrorism in Canada that appear designed to stoke controversy, even as his son Rand tries to stake out less fraught territory in preparation for a likely presidential campaign.

Ron Paul piped up Sunday following a series of attacks on members of the military in Canada that investigators believe are likely tied to jihadist ideology.

“Though horrific, it should not be a complete surprise that Canada found itself hit by blowback last week,” Paul wrote in a column. “That is the danger of intervention in other people’s wars thousands of miles away. Those at the other end of foreign bombs – and their surviving family members or anyone who sympathizes with them – have great incentive to seek revenge. This feeling should not be that difficult to understand.”

Paul’s recent spate of controversial public pronouncements—as a professional provocateur he rarely makes any other kind—are fast becoming a political liability for his son Rand, who is widely expected to mount a campaign for the White House in 2016.
Good for Ron!

Ron Paul:Once-Peaceful Canada Has Turned Militaristic

By Ron Paul

In 1968 the government of Canada decided to openly admit Americans seeking to avoid being drafted into the US war on Vietnam. Before, would-be immigrants were technically required to prove that they had been discharged from US military service. This move made it easier for Americans to escape President Lyndon Johnson’s war machine by heading north.

Although a founding member of NATO, Canada did not join the United States in its war against Vietnam. The Canadian government did not see a conflict 7,000 miles away as vital to Canada’s national interest so Canada pursued its own foreign policy course, independent of the United States.

How the world has changed. Canada’s wise caution about military adventurism even at the height of the Cold War has given way to a Canada of the 21st century literally joined at

Strange Attack on Ron Paul By Paul Krugman

He wrote this oddity at NYT yesterday:

Last night Atif Mian and I flew up to Boston for a conference — and as I slid into my seat, who should I see staring at me but Ron Paul. It turned out that all of the seatback screens in the plane were showing Newsmax TV — who knew there was such a thing? Is it there to serve people who find Fox News too liberal? — and as best I could tell from the visual context (the sound was blessedly off), the elder Paul was lecturing us about monetary policy.

This sort of thing is obviously an important part of the reason we’re living in an age of derp.

Looks to me that Krugman is still hurting from the time he did hear RP and tried to best him but failed miserably. The misery must still be an open wound.

Rand Paul Doubles Down On His Ebola Warning; Calls on Suspension of Flights From Ebola Wracked Countries

There is a different perspective on this from some (via Business Insider):
Former Congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul (R-Texas) thinks the threat of the Ebola virus very well may be a government plan to "deceive" the public. "I do know that governments deceive us and sometimes they hype things. I don't think we are going to see in the next year a horrendous breakout of Ebola in this country," Paul said in a recent video on the topic, according to a press release sent out Thursday morning by his "Voices of Liberty" project.

Adam Dick on Ron Paul

Celebrating Ron Paul’s Forty Years in the Political Arena

By Adam Dick

Forty years ago this month, Ron Paul was in the final weeks of his first campaign for the United States House of Representatives. Paul, a Texas obstetrician who had never before run for political office, was the Republican nominee challenging Rep. Robert R. Casey, the eight-term Democrat incumbent. Casey won that race. But, a year and a half later Paul won the House seat in a special election after the seat had become vacant due to Casey’s appointment to the Federal Maritime Commission.

Paul ran for office in 1974 and through the years in large part so he could have a platform for educating people with a consistent pro-liberty message.

In all, Paul won election to the House 12 times over a span of five decades. Paul’s wins include the unmatched record of being elected three times to the House as a non-incumbent — once in his 1976 special election victory and twice (in 1978 and 1996) in victories against incumbents. Paul had some losses as well — in 1974 and a squeaker House reelection loss in the 1976 general election, as well as in his 1984 US Senate and 1988, 2008, and 2012 presidential races. Yet, Paul’s lost races were fruitful in advancing his educational mission.

Paul left the House in January of 2013 after choosing not to seek reelection. While he is no longer in political office, Paul is focused as much as ever on education. His platform now, including as chairman and founder of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity, is greater than it was through much of his years in political office, allowing Paul to continue his work on building a powerful movement in support of liberty.

Some people disparage Paul for standing by his principles instead of jettisoning his principles in an effort to obtain political power. But, an important lesson of Paul’s forty years and counting in the political arena is that being principled and consistent can yield a very important success — waking up people in America and around the world to the pro-liberty message.

In May of 2013, I spoke at the Universidad Francisco MarroquĂn in Guatemala City, Guatemala regarding Paul’s history in the political arena from Paul’s 1976 special election victory to his founding of the Ron Paul Institute. You can watch the 27 minutes presentation and the following question and answer period here.
