Barnes: Why Trump Will Win the November Election

UPDATE BELOW

Wow, I knew Robert Barnes was a superstar attorney but if you had never heard of him and came upon the below video you would think he is scholar specializing in the history of US presidential elections.

His knowledge of presidential elections and the various voter groups that put presidents into office is vast.

Listen to the first quarter of this video to understand the different classes and how they play roles in different elections and then listen to Barnes explain how this history points to a victory for Trump in November.

Then stick around and Barnes explains why Trump nominating Amy Coney Barrett for the Supreme Court would be putting an authoritarian on the bench.

The full video is 1 hour and 46 minutes but roughly the first hour is the most important with the last half being viewer questions. The questions are excellent, but if your time is short, just listen to the history of presidential elections that Barnes recounts and his discussion about Barrett.

UPDATE

Now, this is power. The original video has gone dark. The two clips below were specifically created for Target Liberty readers.

In the first clip, you have Barnes with his amazing lecture on presidential elections and why Trump will win (34 minutes and 24 seconds) and in the second clip Barnes discusses the Supreme Court nomination coming up and why it better not be Amy Coney Barrett (13 minutes and 26 seconds).

  2. It was on late last night. Had to cut it off to retire. I was wondering if Barnes was going to reference Paul Kleppner's _The Cross of Culture_ and his later work on ethnoreligious groups and their voting patterns. The "evangelicals who like country music" was a new one for me. I guess us "Episcopalians who like Merle Haggard" are probably mostly going fishing this year.

  3. RW - many thanks for retrieving these videos. Barnes knowledge seems encyclopedic. Its enlightening to hear how arbitrary the differences seem between various voting blocks. But of course they are nor arbitrary, they are reflective of the real different preferences between one group and another. And as confusing (to me) as these differences seem they are nothing compared to the differences which must exist between millions and billions of individuals. Barnes' discussion reminds me of Rothbard's book on The Progressives. The information holds little appeal for me but does strengthen my opinion that attempting to achieve political consensus is a fools errand. Which suggests that America's system of politics is meaningless except for power mongers.

  4. Who cares whom wins? They are two sides of the same coin.
Trump will keep the COVID-19 paranoia going, refuse to bring troops home (that he said he would), refuse to stop the riots, refuse to balance the budget, refuse to neuter/end the Fed, is letting Israel dominate him and seems desperate to start a stupid war with Iran.
The only thing he is good for is stacking the SCOTUS. And now that Ginsberg croaked...he can do that before the election.
Anyone who honestly thinks Trump will be substantially better for America than Biden simply has no idea what they are talking about on this matter.
Even though it's leader is nothing special - you vote for the Libertarian Party or literally do not vote at all...EITHER of those are what is best for America.
If you vote for crappy candidates - you get a crappy country...DUH.

  5. Barnes rattles off historical precedents and context unknown to devout partisans at a blinding rate. That's a half an hour of dense historical and political context off the cuff. Smart dude.

It's difficult not to be completely cynical about this election (and all the others). An orange authoritarian squares off with a demented authoritarian. Yay.

      Well put.

    2. You are focused on what a politician "LOOKS" like? And you wonder why the elite have absolutely no respect for the average voter? This is EXACTLY why.

  6. My biggest interests in who wins are what goes on while we are waiting to find out who was chosen, and what the immediate aftermath will be when they decide who wins. Whoever “wins” is going to enrage the losers. I just don’t see this without extreme violence, nothing compared to what’s going on now, and it does worry me. There are more players than just the normal deep state boys this time. And useful idiots like Nancy Pelosi I don’t think has a clue the fire she is playing with when she starts her talk about having to arrest Trump because he won’t leave office. It’s a Cold War now, let’s hope it doesn’t turn into a hot war.

  7. I see the election as this:

    - If Trump wins, you lose
    - If Biden wins, you lose

If Biden wins, you lose a lot.
