The Libertarian Party Presidential Candidate on the COVID-19 Panic

Apparently, Libertarian Party presidential candidate Jo Jorgensen doesn't seem to have a problem signaling in line with government mask-wearing edicts.

Here she is pictured with the vice-presidential candidate Spike Cohen. They are both wearing masks and giving each other an elbow bump.
Why would the two pose for such a picture when mask-wearing and social distancing are so closely identified with government orders?

To be sure, if an individual wants to wear a mask and social distance, a libertarian would have no problem with that.

But the point is that masks and social distancing are being ordered by state and local officials despite the fact that severe danger occurring to someone infected is limited to the very elderly and, at that, elderly who appear to have further serious health issues.

Further, mask and social distancing orders violate the libertarian principle that libertarians should be allowed to adopt their own level of risk tolerance as long as they are not actively endangering others. And in this case, anyone that fears COVID-19 can self isolate for the rest of their lives if they want.

Jorgensen appears to be falling for, or hinting at support for, every damn popular scam justification for government interventions out there.

Remember just a couple of days ago, she was out promoting the Marxist front group Black Lives Manner campaign and thus, at a minimum, supporting the bizarre notion that there is "systemic" racism in the country.

I really hadn't paid much attention to Jorgensen because I don't think she is going to be able to grab much attention to this electoral cycle but she is turning into a real train wreck.

  1. Loser. Period. Waste of time. She is what Lab Manager calls a “Libertardian”.
Seriously, why is there a libertarian party? Just to showcase to the country losers and morons who say they are libertarians?
    Statist?
Whatever, have fun to all who are going to defend her. I’ll sit back and laugh.

    1. I completely agree. I don't vote and pay no attention to the LP, but I will say this: they had a chance to nominate a real small L libertarian in Jacob Hornberger, and they blew it.

    2. Agreed. I would have gladly cast a vote for Jacob Hornberger.

    3. Well Joshua, I'm rather flattered that you would acknowledge that and use my terminology. Yes, both of them are definitely 'libertardians'.

Yeah, people from the turd world do such a good job with the above concept. But you want more trash from these places, right?

Hey, no worse than that Bob Barr fiasco a couple election cycles ago.

  3. The Libertarian Party does seem to be useful for the Republican and Democratic parties. Anyone with libertarian views just seems to be lumped in with this wishy-washy group, and by associating the Libertarian Party with all libertarian views, it does a good job of putting a stink on libertarianism in general.
