COPS: George H.W. Bush’s Cardiologist was Likely Targeted in Shooting

The former cardiologist for George H.W. Bush — who was fatally shot while riding his bike to work last week — was likely the victim of a targeted attack, the Houston police chief says.

Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo told The New York Post that it is “highly probable” Dr. Mark Hausknecht was intentionally killed by another cyclist while biking to Houston Methodist Hospital last Friday.

Acevedo said they were still working to establish a motive.
