The Supreme Court upheld the third, reengineered version of President Trump's travel ban by a vote of 5 to 4.
From the very beginning of President Trump's term in office, the Administration has worked to implement onerous and unnecessary blockades to the entry of foreign nationals to the United States. The President's ban on travel from several Muslim-majority countries is another brick in the invisible wall which does nothing to strengthen our national security, or our nation's shared prosperity.
This ruling by the Supreme Court is deeply troubling. By dismissing the anti-Muslim statements of President Trump and other administration officials when evaluating the legality of the ban, the decision endorses a discriminatory policy motivated by religious animosity. Allowing discrimination to emanate from our nation's highest office undermines the Constitution and our values as a nation. With today's decision, this ban, which isn't necessary and does nothing to improve the safety of Americans, will continue to keep families apart, negatively impact U.S. businesses, and degrade our reputation in the world as a beacon of hope and opportunity.

The Supreme Court Sat by while Obama assassinated a 16 year old American citizen without any due process. Once it's been established that they can just murder your ass, how can anyone be at their wits end over anything else?

Your thinking is quite binary, Labby. It' either a total ban or total open borders for you, no in-between. Who told you that travelers are given visas without inspection? All U.S.-Visa applicants have to go through an interview process, are photographed and fingerprinted, even the younglings. You really have NO clue, do you?
Can the visa process of the countries targeted in the ban be verified and is it sufficient? I thought that was the alleged reason for targeting these countries. Who cares about OUR visa process if the information THEY supply can’t be verified.

ReplyDeleteSimilar to the Cake case we see with this Travel Ban case that all of the MSM and most of the non-MSM focus takes eyes off the fundamental issue: freedom of association. It is in the conversation but barrier deep under equality, race, religion, rights of minority and now Presidential powers.

ReplyDeleteI don't know this person at all, but I'm guessing that, given his arguments, he is guilty of selective outrage at the undermining of the Constitution. That's been going on since almost the day it came into effect.
And I didn't know that a nation could have values. Pray tell, what are they? Other than undermining the Constitution...
