I have to admit this surprises me. Maybe the incumbent's advantage is just so huge, he can win. I thought he'd declare victory and leave after one term just to avoid the embarrassment of a loss -- which I think will be the most likely outcome.
Maybe he has insider information that Hillary will run again. ;)
Wow, I can't believe Trump is running for re-election. It will be interesting to see what he runs on in 2020, and if people will still believe his business intelligence extends to his presidency. Parscale will have his hands full.
Might just be posturing for better negotiating leverage. If people believe he will be in power for a long time, they have to work with him; if he is a one-term president, lame duck starts early and they try to ride it out.
This is yuge. It will be the most beautiful campaign, believe me- it will. It will be beautiful. You'll be very proud of him, believe me -very proud. We will show the rest of the world how strong we are and how we are not weak. We will, believe me.
As it approaches election day 2020 it will be interesting to see how I feel about the concept of "Trump is still better than Clinton". Will Trump be better than whatever Democrat is inspired to run.. probably.
I live in Arizona a state that is likely to vote for Trump (save him starting a world wide nuclear war) so I will have it easy in my support for a Libertarian candidate. What of those folks in Wisconsin?
It will be interesting. The betting odds are 2018 are going to be a huge congressional wipe out for the GOP. If the Dems control Congress for 2018-2020, he may not survive some sort of impeachment by Dems who are foaming at the mouth to get revenge for what the GOP did to Clinton with the Lewinsky impeachment

Not Tulsi Gabbard
DeleteI assume that the US's 17 (declared) intelligence agencies will now have enough preparation time to stop Russian hacking THIS time around?

ReplyDeleteThere's something Spinal Tapish about announcing so early.
