The meeting will take place this weekend, a senior Republican source told CNN.
The two will talk about governing and a possible Cabinet post, according to a CNN producer.
UPDATE
#BREAKING: Donald Trump is considering Mitt Romney for Secretary of State - NBC News— Breaking911 (@Breaking911) November 17, 2016
in 2012, the only time Romney appeared to have energy and "a twinkle in his eye" was when he talked about expanding the military. I wonder if he's being considered for Secretary of Defense?
ReplyDeleteWow consider me a fool for believing that Trump was any kind of an outsider. I wasn't completely blind to the possibility that it was all just theatrics but I fully admit that I bought into a lot of it. The "dislike" between the candidates and MSM/Hollywood being almost united against Trump added credibility too. They put on one heck of a show.
ReplyDeleteNote that I had already lost almost all faith in Trump after Rudy, "Lyin' Ted" and the other neocons were part of his admin but this Romney talk is pretty much final confirmation for me that he's a total fraud.
Meet the new Swamp Creatures--Same as the old Swamp Creatures
DeleteWho's scared of this Romney? Bolton is canned...And we were supposed to be scarred of him last week...I think trump is enjoying making all the boot lickers lick and then he yanks the rug. Cant help but enjoy the groveling for power...
ReplyDeleteTrump must have thicker skin than I thought he had, considering the way that Romney tore into him during the primaries.
ReplyDeleteBusiness people usually have a thicker skin than the average person. You have to be able to compartmentalize in order to advance your own cause against adversarial obstacles.
DeleteBob, I have to question your sanity at this point. Perhaps consider changing your blog's name to Target Clickbait. This is that absurd. Trump is meeting with Romney. Do you have any solid info from a named source in the Trump team? No. Since you know CNN lies, why else to report breathlessly on their content-free post? This meeting will amount to nothing. Only CNN says, apropos of nothing, what the subject of discussion is. Trump is not stupid (this should be apparent by now), and he doesn't forget. There will be no cabinet appointment, and likely nothing else. Maybe an ambassadorship in Ukraine...
ReplyDeleteActually I agree with Shimshon and disagree in part. CNN does lie; Trump is (reasonably) smart. BUT a Romney Sec. of State makes sense two ways: One, the Sec. of State will do the President's bidding so Trump will call the tune and Romney (the dog that he is) will obey. Second, I believe Romney would need Congressional confirmation and that might be easier than trying to get through crazy Rudi Guliani or the wing-nut Bolton.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's a power play. Romney also ran for president. Now the guy obeys orders from the guy who ACTUALLY became president. Making Romney secretary of state means he's officially a subordinate of Trump. Trump can order him around and tell him what to do. Maybe that's how his mind works, who knows.
ReplyDeleteSame with Priebus. As I said about his appointment, now the Repub establishment reports to Trump.
DeletePriebus wasn't a disloyal snake. Never happen. Romney could just as easily shined Trump's shoes.
ReplyDeleteHow politics shape principles.
ReplyDeleteTrumpistas: "Yes! Trump will drain the swamp and shake up the Establishment! Those Neo-cons will be running for the hills!"
--- Mitt Romney being considered as Secretary Of State ---
Trumpistas: "Well, that sounds like a good move, because well, you know what they say, keep your enemies closer and, besides, uh, the guy has experience and it would make Trump look magnanimous and sooo....
WELL, SO WHAT? HE'S BUILDING US A WALL, SO JUST SHUT UP!"
Thanks for re-posting CNN. I don't understand why Trump gets bashed? All he's done is choose two people for his cabinet. Obama wasn't even bashed this much on this site.
