Block vs Wenzel on "Libertarians for Trump"

I just finished recording my debate with Walter Block with regard to"Libertarians for Trump," on the Tom Woods Show.

Walter took the affirmative in support of the resolution: "Resolved: Libertarians should support Donald Trump in his quest for the Republican nomination for President of the United States."

I opposed.

I think everyone will find it interesting.

It seems there is strong interest in the debate, so Tom has rescheduled the posting date and it will be up tomorrow instead of Friday.

I'll post a link here at Target Liberty as soon as it is up.

UPDATE

Tom informs the debate will be posted Friday.

  1. It doesn't matter what his reasoning is, all people see is the headline. Walter is a fool.

  2. It was an interesting debate between two intelligent men of great mutual admiration. The whole idea raises a lot of questions that each individual has to answer for himself.

Essentially it boils down to, in part, is it proper to support the lesser of two evils when, by doing so, one is supporting evil? The related question specifically at hand in this debate is whether one can accurately determine who is the lesser of two evils (or three or four).

If the ultimate goal is more liberty, does it make sense to support, in any fashion, a candidate that promises a net loss of liberty, though perhaps less of a loss than the other leading candidates? This is a collision of principles and pragmatics. This extends to many more areas than just Trump vs. Cruz vs. Kasich.

Again, good debate, and I appreciate both of you for stepping up.
