Teen Decks Bully Who Punched Blind Student — Gets Suspended

They want to take away our guns and even our fists, so only the bad guys will feel unthreatened to roam.

NyPo has the details:
A California teen slammed a bully to the ground for punching a blind student — then was suspended by the school for his actions.
The visually impaired boy was walking past the suspect during lunch hour at Huntington Beach High School on Wednesday when the beanie-wearing punk began pummeling him in the face, OCWeekly reported.
Cody Pine, 17, noticed the attack and quickly intervened — knocking the goon straight to the ground with one swift punch.
After checking on the blind boy, the heroic teen walked over to the bloodstained bully and said: “You trying to jump a f—ing blind kid, bro? What the f— is your problem?”...
Pine was suspended for his courageous actions because of the school’s “zero tolerance policy for violence,” but a petition demanding that he be let back in school has already been signed by more than 30,000 supporters around the world.
An outraged parent also came forward, stating that her daughter also was a victim of the suspect’s bullying.
She told reporters that “[The suspect] picks on people that won’t stick up for themselves,” and that her “family was tested and put through hell by this same bully.

  1. I'm not defending the bully who was punching the blind student, but you can kill someone surprisingly easily with a punch to the head, particularly one in the rear as the video shows. There's an additional danger of falling on cement unconscious.

If you're ever in a situation like this, it's probably better to restrain the bully from behind - don't punch someone from behind unless you believe the situation warrants the possibility of their death.

That being said, I think the real takeaway here is to avoid government schools.

    1. I think the takeaway here is that your morals are fucked.

    2. Have you ever been in a fight? Your suggestion is wrong on several levels in this circumstance. I intervened in a fight, a long time ago, and put a guy in a hold from behind. No way he could get away but then I realized it was a bouncer. Had he not been a bouncer and his buddies had not been bouncers ... no telling. In this case, knocking the bully down and backing up to take a more defensive stand, for himself and the blind kid was the right thing to do. Once the surroundings proved to be safe he checked on the moron. I would not have. I would have called the police and filed an assault and battery charge against the bully.

    3. You can kill somebody from a punch in the head, especially if they are blind and can't see it coming.

    4. One more reason to not punch blind people.

  2. No suspension of boy who came to friend's defense.

Also, the defender asked for compassion toward the initial attacker. Got that?

  3. Not defending the bully but to be fair this is pretty standard policy back to when I was in school (Im 30) you get involved in a fight you get punished.

    1. Not when defending a blind or much weaker person.

    2. Doesn't matter in government school. I was nearly suspended for taking a punch in the chest. Did not even defend myself. Just stood there. It was already conditioned into me by that time (7th grade) that defending myself just made things worse.
