Pinterest Bans Zero Hedge, Conservative and Christian Websites By Adding Them To "Porn Domain Block List"

Documents leaked to Project Veritas by a Pinterest insider reveal that the San Francisco-based social media company has blocked links from Zero Hedge and several conservative or religious-based websites - adding them to a 'porn domain block list' originally intended to keep the platform free of sexually explicit material.
Veritas has published several internal documents and interviewed the insider, who explained how the company with nearly 300 million active monthly users censors pro-life and Christian content.
Links to the leaked documents can be viewed hereherehereherehere and here. Of note, in February the social media platform made headlines for blocking searches related to anti-vaccination material. At the time, the company was criticized over their seemingly random methods for determining offensive content. (via ZeroHedge)

  1. Boycotting is the tool libertarians use to solve this issue. Is it effective though? If not, that's why most people are not libertarians.

    1. Pinterest should not be used because it is awful. Any other reason not to use it is secondary.

    3. Hello, limelemon,

Most people aren't libertarians not because of anything Pinterest does; they're not libertarians because libertarianism requires shedding ignorance and petty jealousies to give space to reason, something many (including you, it would seem) are not cut off for.

    4. limelemon, most people are not libertarian because they want violence to be used against peaceful people to "nudge" them to lead an enlightened life. I am not the least bit ashamed to say that I am against such violence. If my way is less effective than violence (at least in the short term), I can live with that.

  2. Yep, can verify. Tried to post various links to Zero Hedge, along with a picture of a cute dog, and was blocked. "Sorry! We blocked this link because it may lead to inappropriate content."

  4. This is the new Wars Of Religion except we are fighting over website content instead of prayer book content. There will be burnings of heretics.
