Iran to Send War Ships to Gulf of Mexico

Iranian warships are set to leave the waters of the Persian Gulf to sail across the waters and tour the Gulf of Mexico, reports Newsweek.

Newly appointed Iranian navy commander, Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi, held his first press conference yesterday, announcing that a fleet of Iranian ships would soon depart for the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico en route to visits to a number of South American countries, Iran’s semiofficial Tasnim News Agency reported.

I can't wait for President Trump's twitter reaction to this. Of course, U..S naval warships have patrolled off the coast of Iran for decades.

The U.S. should show leadership on this issue and leave the Persian Gulf and return its navy to home ports.

  1. But we've got a secret weapon. One port call in Biloxi / Gulfport and they'll all come down with a dose and go home.

  2. Since the folks at Newsweek didn't seem to ask I will. How many ships in a fleet?

  3. Iran could send its entire Navy, and be outnumbered and EXTREMELY outgunned, by one carrier battle group MINUS the aircraft carrier. They have 3 old destroyers, 5 frigates, 3 old soviet submarines, some mini subs, corvettes (think large coast guard ship), and some gun boats (think Kennedy's PT109).
